Five Elements
Zoe Gems / Energy & symbolism
Five phases. A personal detail.
Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water offer a language of movement and relationship. At Zoe Gems, they inspire color, composition and one meaningful bead.
Wuxing · 五行
Often translated as “Five Elements,” wuxing can also be understood as five phases or processes. It is a Chinese philosophical framework, not a list of chemical elements and not the same system as the seven chakras.
Wood · 木
Growth & renewal
Design example: Green aventurine.
Fire · 火
Warmth & expression
Design example: Red agate or carnelian.
Earth · 土
Steadiness & care
Design example: Tiger’s eye or yellow quartz.
Metal · 金
Clarity & refinement
Design example: Clear quartz.
Water · 水
Flow & reflection
Design example: Aquamarine.
Relationships, rather than isolated labels
The generating cycle is Wood → Fire → Earth → Metal → Water → Wood. The regulating cycle is Wood → Earth → Water → Fire → Metal → Wood. These describe relationships within the traditional framework.
Your element, your choice
Our jewelry pairings are Zoe Gems design interpretations. Blue aquamarine, for example, is a Water-inspired color choice; it is not a claim about the mineral’s chemical composition. Crystal Compass offers an optional birth-year symbol, not a complete BaZi chart. A full traditional calculation uses more information and calendar conventions; a year alone cannot establish what someone “lacks.”
